Ivo Hristov was born on 8 October 1970 in Istanbul.

He completed his secondary education in “Athenee Royale” in Brussels in 1988 and he graduated the Faculty of Law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

He is translator of a lot of novels written by Romain Gary, Marguerite Duras, Andre Gide, Philippe Djian, Tonino Benacquista.

He has worked as a journalist in RFI-Bulgaria and the “Europe Magazine” published in Paris (2000-2001).  

He is author of Francois Mitterrand’s political biography published in Bulgarian in the year 2000.

In the period 2001-2002 he was editor of the “Observer” TV program with Toma Tomov, broadcast on Nova TV.

Since 2012 he has been presenter of the “Small stories” program broadcast on the Bulgarian National Television.

He is author in the “L'Europeo“ magazine, The Sega daily and the Theme magazine, a correspondent of Courrier des Balkans for Bulgaria.

He is founder of the “Bulgaria shows solidarity” Association.

He is editor and author of the magazine for political analyses “A-specto” (2014).

He is fluent in French, English, Russian and Spanish.

He was appointed as Chief of the Cabinet to the President by virtue of the Head of State’s decree No. 45 as of 23 January 2017.
