“The Bulgarian Christmas - 2004":
Bozhidara Slaveikova Georgieva, 3, Alexi Angelov Latinov, 3, Hristo Rossenov Nedyalkov, 6 months, and Angel Yossifov, 3 months. All of them underwent surgery and had liquid-draining valves installed. The children are from the homes for children deprived of parental care in Montana, Dobrich and Sofia.
Melanie Georgieva Metodieva, 7, from Sofia, Nelly Antonova Yordanova, 7, from Sofia, Ilian Ivanov Popov, 15, from Sofia. Cochlear implants were purchased for these children and successful surgery was performed.
Ivan Lyubomirov Vassilev, 7, from Veliko Turnovo. For the second time, funds from “The Bulgarian Christmas” were used for a stem cell transplant for Ivan, as a result of which the boy’s condition is improving significantly. He will have to have further operations, depending on the judgement of physicians.
Radoslav Nikiforov Karaboichev, 8, from Sofia. Has had numerous clinical tests done in Freiburg, Germany, and will undergo surgery when his condition permits. Until then the boy is using special eyeglasses purchased with funds from “The Bulgarian Christmas”.
Antonio Nikolaev Antonov, 5, from the village of Gorna Mitropolia. Medicines have been purchased that are not financed by the NHIF, and which are vitally necessary for the support and treatment of the child.
Theodora Elkova Yaneva, 17, from Sofia. The girl will be supported on a monthly basis for the period of one year for supporting treatment until the time of surgery.
Pamela Penkova Vulkova, 7 months, from Koula. The young Pamela, who underwent the first liver transplantation in Bulgaria, was provided with the necessary medicines for home treatment and support.
Maria Yossifova Minkova, 8, from Cherven Bryag. An expensive medicine for the treatment of the oncological process was provided for the child.
Three children with cancer, aged 12, 13 and 18. Purchased for them was the expensive medication Glivec, which as of the middle of the year was covered by the NHIF. At the request of their parents, the names of the children are known only to the organisers of the campaign and are not announced publicly.

Specialised Hospital for Active Treatment of Children’s Diseases - Clinic of Neonatology – Sofia. Six monitors, one echocardiograph, five aspirators and five perfusors were purchased.
Paediatric Clinic at UMHAT – Pleven. Four monitors, four inhalators, five perfusors and one infant incubator were purchased.
Paediatric ward with intensive care sector at MHAT – Vidin. Three monitors, one echograph, five perfusors and five inhalators were purchased.
Children’s cardiac surgery ward at the National Cardiology Hospital Sofia. An echocardiograph was provided for the children’s cardiac ward. This latest generation of equipment is the only one in Bulgaria.
Paediatric ward at MHAT Haskovo. One echograph, two monitors, four inhalators, a fibrogastroscope and a stomach pump were purchased.
Home for Medical and Social Care Kurdjali. Two infant incubators and four inhalators were purchased.
